On a day-to-day basis our Control Room staff are responsible for ensuring all contracts are staffed with trained people, scheduling, arranging cover for holidays, communicating with on-site personnel, CCTV surveillance, mobile patrols, keyholding, alarm response , out of hours virtual concierge and help desk and checks on lone workers.
Security officers at all sites are required to book on and off duty with the control room, and to make hourly check calls. In the unlikely event that a call is missed a mobile supervisor is dispatched to the site to undertake a safety check.
All our Control Room staff have a Level 2 Award for Working as a CCTV Operator. Our management team study developments in Control Room operating procedures, and these elements are integrated into our BE EN ISO 9001 & 14001 Quality and Environmental Accreditations.

We fully understand that the vast majority of existing staff may wish to transfer to our employment, however from time to time we will have to recruit new staff. The new staff must be fit for role to provide the service requirements.
We are obliged to recruit and retain high calibre personnel. As we have previously mentioned our staff are our biggest asset. There are certain minimum standards we will look for when recruiting and we would assess all officers who may transfer to our employment to ensure they meet with the high SPS standards. This assessment would include: –
- Proficient in both written and oral communications.
- The ability to work within established procedures.
- Must hold a valid (In date) SIA Frontline licence and an (enhanced) DBS.
- Must hold a recognised SITO or other approved Security Training Certificate.
- Must be able to contribute to the service delivery.
- Disciplined and professional with a mature sensible attitude.
- The ability to operate without supervision and to use their own initiative.
- Reliable with a good track record in the security or similar field.
- Honest, polite, courteous and able to communicate at all levels.
- They must possess good administrative and report writing skills with a good standard of numeracy and literacy.
- Be able to work in a team and can work with or alongside the customer staff as required.
- Have an environmental and H & S awareness.
- Be approachable and able to communicate effectively in their line of duty.
- Have a full understanding of the Health and Safety at work requirements.
- Able to cope with pressure and have the ability to control and deal with any Aggressive or potentially difficult situations and or persons.
- Pass standard SPS tests for – sight, hearing and sense of smell.
- Keen to do well in their chosen career.
- Computer literate.
- Able to respond quickly to any incidents. Must be fit and agile to enable response to incidents.
- Customer Service orientated with a good telephone manner.
- Be able to pass our induction, training and meet with the vigorous vetting standards.
- Have no medical condition which may limit or restrict their duties as security officers.
We follow strict guidelines which are laid down in the relevant British Standards BS7499 and BS7858 and our QMS on all aspects of security work.
