Keyholder changes need to be in writing to ensure accuracy. We can talk through the keyholder changes to make sure the procedures are exactly as you require them. We would then e-mail them to you to confirm the changes and these would be implemented the same day.
It’s likely that the back-up battery has depleted, back-up batteries usually last a maximum of 5 years before they need replacing. If you have a maintenance contract, the engineer will check the battery voltage, age and functionality on the routine maintenance. During a power outage, a good battery should last 8 hours, if your mains has been off for a prolonged period, this could also drain the battery. It’s also normal for your alarm system to display an error message during a power outage, this is normally an alert and should clear once the power has been re-instated.
We offer maintenance and monitoring packages to suit both commercial and domestic properties. We can arrange for a member of team to provide a quote for taking on the maintenance of your system.
This is dependent on the nature of the visit and/or your maintenance contract type. We are happy to discuss any costs before an engineer attends. It’s not always possible to establish the cause of the fault before the engineer arrives but we will be transparent of any potential costs. For callouts with parts needed, the on site engineer can discuss the costs with you whilst on site. Any extensive remedial/replacement works required found by the engineer on site will be passed to our Surveyor to provide a written quotation.
Surveyor visits to provide a quotation for new and existing customers are free of charge, following a site visit, a no obligation quotation will be provided.
SPS Security can carry out regular patrols on your premises using an SPS Security highly visible vehicle from our fleet. The number of vehicles you need depends on the size of your premises but in most cases only one vehicle is required.
The service also includes weekly reports sent via email to the point of contact within your organisation. All reports show the date and time of any visits to your property and if any issues during a visit occur in the form of an incident report.
An Incident Report highlights any issues found on-site and additional photographs depicting the issue found with the date and time it was logged. Our reports are designed to give you, the customer, total transparency of anything that occurs on-site out of hours.
There are many advantages of having out-of-hours Mobile Patrol Services for your property. Including the presence of a security professional to act as a deterrent for any potential criminal activity and to maximise your overall security coverage throughout the day.
The service also negates any requirement on the part of the customer to be involved should any incident occur. Which subsequently reduces any impact the incident may have on your business the following day.
Because criminal activity is less likely to occur, the probability of any damage to the property or assets is vastly reduced, which could lead to savings on your insurance.
Our mobile security team will create a custom plan that details each section of the property that needs to be inspected. Whether it’s meter readings, windows, doors, or anything else related to your property. We can then send this to the customer via email along with an in-depth report complete with images and any other necessary information.

On most business insurance policies any deterrent you have in place will make deductions to the overall cost of your policy.
All keys are stored in our secure Control Room at SPS Security. When informed of an activation a member of our alarm response team will collect the keys and proceed to the site.
First, the mobile security officer will conduct an external patrol to observe whether there are any signs of entry. If a break-in is confirmed the police will then be alerted. Upon their arrival, an interior search will then be conducted.
If no signs of entry are found, the Mobile Security Officer will enter the building and inspect the alarm panel to see which zone has been activated.
If a cause can be found, the attending officer will resolve the issue, reset the panel and complete a form which is then emailed to the point of contact within your organisation the next morning. This is to ensure that the customer is aware of the activation, the cause and how it was resolved.
The Mobile Security Officer will ensure the property is left secure.

We try and attend to every alarm in the quickest possible time. We try and reach every alarm within a 40-minute window of activation. This is not always possible but we will always inform you of the reason why this was not met as part of the service we provide.
