Our control room utilises Bold Gemini platform for IP and Dual Path monitoring. We also recommend Custodian Monitoring; one of the UK largest independent monitoring stations.
It can be achieved by various types of communicators, such as Red Care and Dual Comm. Signals from these systems will be received within seconds at the monitoring station to call the emergency services.
We also supply, install and commissioning these systems.
Weekly Fire Alarm Testing
To monitor and ensure your fire alarm is operational in the event of a fire emergency a weekly fire alarm test is required.
To test your Fire Alarm please take the following actions:
- Notify your Customers, Staff and SPS Control room of an imminent Alarm Test.
- Activate the *Signal Test Switch beside the Panel (*if fitted), our ask our control room to put the system on Test.
- Test the operation of the system by activating a Manual Call Point using the Test Key provided.
- Check all Alarm Sounders are operating and that the activation is reported on the Control Panel.
- If not isolated by the Signalling Test Switch, check operation of auxiliary devices such as Auto Closing Doors, Shutters and the Heating & Ventilation System.
- If the tests are satisfactory then Silence the Alarms and then Reset the system.
- Record the Test in the logbook (choose and activate a different Call Point each week, so that they are tested in turn).
- Any faults found with system during the test should be reported our control room immediately.
- Record the Test and the Fault in the logbook.

- The ability to operate without supervision and to use their own initiative.
- Reliable with a good track record in the security or similar field.
- Honest, polite, courteous and able to communicate at all levels.
- They must possess good administrative and report writing skills with a good standard of numeracy and literacy.
- Be able to work in a team and can work with or alongside the customer staff as required.
- Have an environmental and H & S awareness.
- Be approachable and able to communicate effectively in their line of duty.
- Have a full understanding of the Health and Safety at work requirements.
- Able to cope with pressure and have the ability to control and deal with any Aggressive or potentially difficult situations and or persons.
- Pass standard SPS tests for – sight, hearing and sense of smell.
- Keen to do well in their chosen career.
- Computer literate.
- Able to respond quickly to any incidents. Must be fit and agile to enable response to incidents.
- Customer Service orientated with a good telephone manner.
- Be able to pass our induction, training and meet with the vigorous vetting standards.
- Have no medical condition which may limit or restrict their duties as security officers.
